Aromatic and medicinal plants in the Alpine region occur in almost all altitudes and soil types. Also the plant families are quite diverse. Most are wild plants, which were more or less promoted by growers and collectors in nature.
In addition to the wild species that can be used as aromatic and medicinal plants, varieties of originally Mediterranean species were bred or adapted over a long period of time to the respective alpine climate.
Phytotherapy is gaining importance. Therefore, research on ingredients, varieties and species is also being stepped up
