Description

Cereals Need dry summers for maturation. Too much precipitation causes poor maturation or fungal infections. This is especially important in the easternmost Alps and the northern margin of the Alps where cereal growth only occurs below 1000m Elevation. In the dry zones within the Alps and the southern margin growth can occur up to 2200m Elevation. Above 1500m Elevation maturation however takes over 12 months, thus a harvest is only possible every 2 years.
