General and History
Langhe sheep are bred in Langhe Region in the Province of Cunea (Piedmonte). Breeding concentrates on 2 to 5 animals. Activities (BLUP-ANIMAL-MODEL) were started in 1993 to genetically improve the breed.

Processing and products
In the region of Piedmont, Murazzano cheese is made from the milk of the sheep and 60% cow milk. The cheese was awarded with the DOP-seal.
